Let a relative sign in and see updates about the person you support.
For managers
Give a family member access
- Check you have the client's consent, or that sharing is in their best interests and recorded.
- Open the client's profile and go to the Family Access tab.
- Press Add Family Member.
- Enter their Full Name, Email Address, a Temporary Password and their Relationship to Client.
- Press Create & Send Welcome Email. The email has a link for them to set their own password.
How family members sign in
- They follow the link in the welcome email, or go to the family sign-in page at app.care-app.uk/family/login.
- They enter their email and password and press Sign In. If they forget it, they press Forgot password?
What family members can see
- Daily Updates, including day recaps and photos.
- The 5 most recent diary entries.
- Medication from the last 7 days, shown as Given or Not given.
- Upcoming appointments and recent wellbeing.
- Message the Care Team. See Reply to family messages.
Turn access off
- On the client's Family Access tab, press Disable to pause access, or Enable to turn it back on.
- To remove someone completely, use Remove family member. This deletes their login and cannot be undone.
Good to know
- Every family member sees the same information. You cannot choose different things for different people, so write diary entries with that in mind.
- System, then Family Portal, lists every family account with when they last signed in.
- If a relative sees "No active family portal access was found for this email address", check the email on the Family Access tab and that they are not disabled.
- Clients themselves can have their own access to their care plan from the My Care Plan Portal tab.
